Ryan Dix
the Old Wives

"I get a lot of compliments on my tone, which can be odd as a bass player. It just goes to show you how important my DB800B and TC1510 is to my overall sound. Right from the get-go I was able to dial in the right amount of high-end so that my tone still booms when I need it to, but my lines can still cut through to the crowd. It's important - because I'm the lead bass player..."

Ryan is the bass player and shares the lead vocal responsibilities in "the Old Wives". In late 2009, he moved from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Edmonton, Alberta and immediately found a new home with the up-and-coming pop-punk band. Since then, Ryan and the 'Wives have been on the road supporting punk heroes like Chixdiggit, Screeching Weasel, Misfits, Pennywise and Wilhelm Scream, as well as stops along the Warped Tour, Insub Fest in Baltimore, MD and Pouzza Fest in Montreal, QC. 2012 will bring a re-release of the 2011 album 'Backed In A Corner' in the US, a new full-length in the fall, and some stops along the road in Canada, the US and Japan.

Ryan is a multi-instrumentalist and song-writer, and hopes to continue to tour and record for many years while maintaining a full-time career at home. He also loves beer, the Montreal Canadians and hates it when Albertans refer to Ontario as Eastern Canada.
